A Second World

LOWELL, MA USA, The Middlesex Beat Magazine: Valerie Parker has a lofty mission: to change the world. That may seem a tall order for the average person, but for her it goes with the territory. In 1997 the twenty-something Massachusetts native spearheaded a bold, non-profit initiative called Second World. Her formula is simple: Give back to the people what they deserve through fair trade. Really fair.
