These Kettles are made in an area in Western Nepal called Himal Ganesh, or Ganesh’s Mountain. For centuries villagers in Himal Ganesh have used traditional hand hammering techniques to create wonderfully original copper pieces. Men from a certain cast in Himal Ganesh have been the coppersmiths in Nepal for centuries; their fathers and grandfathers and great grandfathers were coppersmiths. As Nepal becomes more Westernized, the Nepali people have less use for copper products, despite their recyclable and antibacterial qualities. By purchasing these kettles, we are not only helping to make a group of Nepalis financially independant, but also helping to continue a centuries old tradition. These kettles are fully functional and non toxic.
These beautiful pieces come in Flat and Round styles in the following sizes:
Traditional hammered detail.
