Fashionably Fair Ethical Fashion Campaign Heats Up
Some of the Fashionably Fair™ featured ethical brands include....
Started by a Massachusetts native, Jute & Jackfruit is driven by three core commitments: to offer the most beautiful, limited edition, exquisite clothing available; to support the environment in everything that they do; and, to empower women worldwide through socially conscious endeavors and fair trade practices. Norden Arts grew out of the founders desire to provide an equitable wholesale relationship between independent artists in Nepal and international retailers. This design house features unique colorful designs inspired by the latest trends and carefully crafted from hand woven fabric by artists in Nepal. These beautiful textiles are woven out of cashmere, silk, cotton or viscose into cloth that is as pleasing to the touch as it is to the eye, some of the scarves are so fine they flow like water over the skin. Sturdier cloth is stitched into colorful, playful skirts, wraps and bags. While there are themes running through the Norden line, each piece is a unique handcrafted piece of art. Those who walk away with one of these treasures will be privileged to wear and display a truly one of a kind piece of cultural art. Visitors to The New England Culture Fest will have exclusive access to designs from these and other independent fair trade designers at the Fashionably Fair Runway Show where these cutting edge lines will be modeled to the sound of live samba drumming under the open sky. All designs will also be up for bid at the silent auction and later at the online store www.second-world.com.
Fashionably Fair is a fair trade advocacy organization promoting the efforts of independent designers to provide high quality contemporary designs to fashion conscious eco-savvy consumers at a reasonable cost while supporting independent artisans and crafters with a fair sustainable living wage.
